Description
VDx is seeking a full-time Veterinary Clinical Pathologist to join our team in our Davis CA laboratory. This is an on-site position.
We are a private veterinarian-owned veterinary pathology laboratory located in Davis, California. Our clinical Veterinary Diagnostics division operates a busy biopsy and cytology service that serves practicing veterinarians nationally. We are known for outstanding quality and service by our clients who include a high proportion of veterinary specialists, including surgeons, internists, oncologists, dentists, and dermatologists, among others. The position offers a variety of challenging cases and the opportunity to work collaboratively with our veterinarian clients and colleagues to deliver high level care. Our clinical pathology service evaluates FNAs, bone marrow, and fluids (effusions, CSF, airway washes etc.), predominantly from dogs and cats, although we receive few equine and exotic samples. We also operate our own in-house immunocytochemistry, PARR and flow cytometry labs, offering the ability to integrate morphology with advanced diagnostics.
This is a unique opportunity for a pathologist to work in a supportive collegial setting, focused on quality over quantity, and with a team of highly experienced colleagues (six anatomic and three clinical veterinary pathologists). Work for a veterinarian owned company that values pathologists, with moderate daily caseloads, allowing time for complicated case reviews and in laboratory pathologist consultations. Starting salary for newly boarded ACVP licensed pathologist is $155k. Experienced ACVP pathologists are paid for production and can earn > $200-250k.
The position is located in the VDx laboratory in Davis, CA. Come and enjoy our fabulous weather and wide variety of cultural and recreational opportunities! Davis is located between the San Francisco Bay area and the California State capitol, within a short drive of the Pacific Ocean, the Sierra Nevada mountains and the Lake Tahoe region. Our lab is less than a mile from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, offering access to many professional resources, including university libraries, rounds and the potential for interaction with other veterinary professionals.
