About the PositionDescription
A healthcare organization in Georgetown, South Carolina is seeking experienced Pathologists for a locum assignment providing inpatient hospital-based pathology services across a regional hospital network.
This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of pathology cases and subspecialties while collaborating with laboratory professionals and physicians across multiple healthcare facilities.
The physician will support pathology services for several affiliated hospitals and must be comfortable reviewing and interpreting pathology specimens across different clinical environments.
Job Responsibilities• Review and interpret surgical pathology and laboratory specimens
• Provide diagnostic pathology interpretations for affiliated hospital locations
• Prepare pathology reports and diagnostic documentation
• Collaborate with physicians and clinical teams regarding diagnostic findings
• Maintain accurate pathology documentation using Epic EMR
• Support laboratory operations and diagnostic workflow
• Provide pathology services across multiple regional hospitals
• MD or DO degree
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pathology
• Active South Carolina medical license required
• Ability to interpret a broad range of pathology subspecialties
• Comfortable supporting pathology services across multiple hospital sites
Start Date: December 1, 2025
Assignment Type: Ongoing locum coverage
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Daily Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Lunch Break: 1-hour unpaid break
Call: No call required
Urgent Coverage Windows:
• April 6 – April 10: Georgetown, SC
• May 9 – May 22: Orangeburg, SC

Requirements
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Pathology
• Active South Carolina Medical License
• Ability to interpret multiple pathology subspecialties
• Experience providing pathology services across hospital sites
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• NPDB Self-Query report pulled within the last 30 days
• CV listing all pathology subspecialties and clinical experience
