Tissue and fluid samples collected for morphologic evaluation of other diseases will be forwarded to clinical laboratories within the University of Washington system. The laboratory is staffed six days a week and has on-call Technologists and Pathologists available twenty-four hours a day to run and result critical specimens. The Fred Hutch Pathology Laboratory provides routine histologic staining, as well as immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization staining. In addition, Pathology provides histology services for a number of collaborative research studies with other members of the Fred Hutchinson Clinical Research Division, as well as for intradepartmental research based on the pathology archival material.
