St. Marys Health Care System is seeking two full-time, board-certified or board-eligible Pathologists to join our in-house pathology team. This role is an excellent opportunity to step into a well-established practice with smooth operational workflows and strong support from hospital administration.
With the current pathology group owner retiring and the growth that has occurred within the system, these opening will backfill key roles in pathology services and ensure continuity of high-quality diagnostic care.
The new pathologists will work alongside a seasoned colleague who has transitioned to hospital employment, allowing for a seamless onboarding and strong team collaboration. This is a full-time position based out of Athens GA.

Established Practice: Join an already well-functioning pathology service that has been fully integrated with hospital operations.
Experienced Team: Work closely with one other board-certified pathologist with deep knowledge of hospital operations, pathology protocols, and casework.

Collegial Environment: Collaborate daily with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, surgeons, and radiologists to guide patient care.
Coverage Model: Shared call coverage, with a manageable and well-balanced workload.
QUALIFICATIONS
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
Successful completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA Pathology residency program
Board Certification through the American Board of Pathology in AP/CP.
Georgia medical state licensure
Valid controlled substance registration with Board of Pharmacy and DEA
Strong interpersonal and diagnostic skills with a commitment to teamwork and service excellence
