Clinical service responsibilities include molecular and genomic pathology interpretation and sign-out oncology and constitutional genetics in a state-of-the-art multiplatform diagnostic service, including whole exome and transcriptome sequencing, next-generation sequencing DNA and RNA panels, copy number profiling and targeted molecular testing.

Teaching responsibilities include participation in the ACGME-certified Molecular Genetic Pathology Fellowship and Pathology Residency programs at BCM. Clinical and translational research responsibilities include developing molecular genetic and genomic tests relevant to constitutional genetic disorders and cancers in children, and participation in clinical research studies in precision oncology.


The successful candidate must be either board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and board-certified/eligible in Molecular Genetic Pathology, or board-certified by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics. This faculty member will participate in multidisciplinary clinical programs working in close collaboration with colleagues in hematology/oncology, medical genetics, cytogenetics, and pathology at TCH and BCM. Experience in next-generation sequencing and clinical informatics is highly desirable. Candidates with expertise in constitutional genetic testing will be considered favorably. Joint appointments in other basic science or clinical departments are available for individuals with broader academic interests.
