FACULTY POSITIONS – MEDICAL EDUCATOR (PATHOLOGY)

The Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine – Columbia invites applications from pathologists who have a major interest in medical education. This is a 12-month, non-tenure track appointment at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching pathology in the new integrated organ system-based curriculum of USCSOM. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in developing and facilitating interactive/self-directed learning as well as case-based, team-based, and small-group sessions. Additional duties may include student mentoring, committee work, and participation in ongoing research programs. Candidates for this position are not required to provide patient-oriented services.

The successful candidates will possess the following qualifications:

• Earned M.D., D.O., D.V.M., and/or Ph.D. from an accredited institution.
• Experience in medical education.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and an ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and other personnel.
