The Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine within the Faculty of Health Sciences, McMaster University, invites applications for a junior faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Contractually Limited Appointment (CLA) category, for a 3-year period.
As the successful candidate, you will contribute to the Department's collegial and collaborative intellectual community as well as university-wide inclusive excellence goals and priorities. You will contribute to educational programs through teaching at the undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels at the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine’s Anatomy and Physiology Program and other Faculty of Health Sciences educational programs as required. Specifically, the successful candidate will be expected to teach medical foundations (MF) at the Niagara Regional Campus (NRC) as well as assist with Physician Assistant (PA) training on the Hamilton main campus.
As part of the application package, candidates should submit:
-a CV and teaching portfolio (providing evidence of their teaching excellence through summarizing their teaching interests, philosophy and relevant teaching experience)
-A 2-page statement outlining their research experience and/or intended research direction; candidates are invited to describe the impact that any career interruptions may have had on research, academic, and/or scholarly productivity, if applicable
-A statement on any contributions made or planned in relation to advancing equity, diversity and inclusion or inclusive excellence in teaching, research, or service within higher education, community-based or other professional settings.
-Please also include the names of at least three referees; letters of reference are not required and will not be reviewed at the application stage; the Department will request letters of recommendation from referees at later stages of the search process.

Requirements
The successful applicant will hold a Ph.D. and/or MD. Two or more years of postdoctoral (or equivalent) teaching experience in human anatomy, including prior gross dissection experience, is preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience in research or other scholarly activities related to educational evaluation and innovation or, comparative and functional anatomy.
