Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Master's degree in Pathology Assistant studies (required)
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Pathology Assistant in a hospital or clinical laboratory
- Experience with surgical specimen gross examination (grossing) and autopsy assistance
- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented pathology/laboratory environment
- Willingness to follow laboratory safety, quality assurance, and compliance procedures
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pathologists with preparation, gross examination, and dissection of surgical specimens (surgical pathology grossing)
- Perform autopsy procedures under the supervision of a pathologist
- Prepare and maintain accurate specimen records, pathology documentation, and gross descriptions
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards, quality control, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with pathologists, histology staff, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care and timely diagnosis
