Pathology Assistant Location: Carbondale, IL Agency: Conflux Systems Inc Pay: $63 to $65 per hour Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP

Position SummaryResponsible for assisting with gross descriptions and dissection of surgical tissues; submits specimens for laboratory testing; summarizes patients’ medical history.Principal AccountabilitiesStandards of Performance: Respect, Integrity, Compassion, Collaboration, Stewardship, Accountability, Quality Role Specific Responsibilities

• Performs procedures within the specialty of the supervising physician
• Provides assistance with the gross description and dissection (examination) of surgical tissues.
• Submits specimens for histological and other laboratory testing.
• Summarizes patients’ medical history.
• Relates and functions effectively with the medical community, lab, and other hospital staff
